Three Generations
Our story is one of incredible entrepreneurship, but it’s also one of family. It all began 55 years ago with my grandfather, Anthony Scherba. After immigrating from Ukraine and eventually settling in Strathroy, Ontario, Grandpa Scherba identified a local need and founded Carpet Care & Sales.
Together with my grandmother, Evelyn, they had three sons. The eldest, David—my father—joined the business, diversifying its offerings and exploring new market opportunities.
Here We Grow
My brother Jeremy soon followed, bringing his entrepreneurial spirit and created Beckham Brothers, our signature flooring line. My own path to joining the family business was less straightforward.
Adventure Calls
Driven by a love for adventure and snowboarding, I moved out west for what I thought would be a single winter season. Instead, I spent a decade immersed in the extreme sports lifestyle. My passion for the outdoors led me to work with lifestyle brands, most notably Quiksilver, where I became the Western Canada rep for Roxy.
Coming Home
However, the call of family eventually drew me back. In 2007, I returned home and immersed myself in the family business, learning every aspect of the industry. In 2015, my father and brother invited me to manage the business. I saw an opportunity to honor their achievements while incorporating my passion for fashion, design, and customer experience.

It’s something I think about daily. I would love to think he would be proud of what we’re doing. He continues to inspire and drive me, reminding me that passion, respect, and honesty are the cornerstones of success in business as well as life.
